Camping Barn Newton Arlosh

Watch Hill – historically said to be a Roman watch tower – looks over the Salt Pans of the Solway. The local hamlet of Saltcoates to the West of the village is said to be a location of the Salt Pans.

Watch Hill is situated in the village of Newton Arlosh and is a small farm home to dogs, cats, pigs and chickens – as well as the owners, Harry & Pauline Smith!

The village of Newton Arlosh – derived from ‘Newtown on the Marsh’ – is situated between Abbeytown and Kirkbride on the B5307 Cumbrian Coastal Route, and is bordered on one side by the peat moss and the other by the tidal salt marsh. Being situated in ‘An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there are many private areas to walk quietly and enjoy the wildlife which this secluded area hosts.
